Lia and Chris | St. Paul's Catholic Church | Embassy Suites Downtown Tampa | Tampa Wedding Photography

Lia and Chris rang in the New Year uniting their love in a beautiful holy ceremony at St. Paul's Catholic Church amongst their family and friends who traveled as far as Finland and Holland to join this joyous occasion. Fireworks really went off at the reception at the Embassy Suites in Downtown Tampa where everyone danced into the New Year. It was an amazing time celebrating the love and sweet new beginnings of this sweet couple. Lia and Chris became friends in middle school where they were both members of the band. After their freshmen year attending the same high school, Chris left and attended another school and at that time they parted ways. After almost 12 years they reconnected through Facebook and where they made plans for dinner with a few old friends. One of the couples fell sick that night and they had to pull out their dinner plans, but Lia and Chris decided to still have dinner, and from then on they hit it off :) Together they love enjoying a good glass of wine over dinner to the tune of live jazz music. Congratulations Lia and Chris! Best Wishes to a Happy New Year and a life long happy marriage!

Giannina and Stefan has a love story that started when they met in elementary school! Giannina was in 4th grade and Stefan was in 3rd grade. They went to the same school until 8th grade and Giannina always had a crush on Stefan. Giannina started at college at UCF and Stefan at FSU, and then they both graduated from USF. They lost touch for a while but reconnected on Facebook. They enjoy fine dining and the love movies. They walk from their homes and frequent the Baywalk Muvico almost weekly so we just had to include that location! They also love to play scrabble. At the end of the session they treated me to their favorite treated of beignets and coffee.

Tammy and Todd Featured in the Limelight | Don Cesar | St. Petersburg Wedding Photography

Tammy and Todd met at a sign trade show in Dallas, TX. They were both working for the same company but at different branches and ended up working the booth together. They made small talk during the show and found themselves talking and laughing more and more as the day went on. That evening, the company took in a Rangers / Yankees game. Todd made it a point to sit next to Tammy, even kicking his friend out of the already occupied seat. They hit it off immediately and spent the entire weekend together. Once the show was over they both went home to Illinois and South Carolina. They stayed in touch and remained friends over the next several months. On Thanksgiving weekend 2007, Todd was transferred to the Illinois branch and they have been inseparable since :)

They had a gorgeous wedding in the courtyard garden at the Don Cesar. Friends and family joined in celebration on a sunny fall day the weekend before Thanksgiving. Carribean Crew provided the tunes for the reception and the talented Tara Bishop of the Don Cesar provided the cake. Every moment of the day was so much fun. I am so thankful to have been apart of celebrating their special day :)

Pinar and Mark have been together since 1998 and originally met as next door neighbors. This couple has recently moved and now calls Tampa home. As they embark on this next chapter of their lives they also open up a new chapter as a beautiful married couple.

Pinar and Mark had a gorgeous outdoor wedding at The Rusty Pelican on what could arguably have been the most beautiful weather possible. They celebrated with friends and family who flew in from all over the world. DJ Felix provided excellent music for a wedding party who were hands down the best dancers I have come across at a wedding.

Jessica and Adam were a wonderful couple to work with on their amazing wedding day! There was so much excitement and love shared between these two that photographing their special day was such a pleasure! The couple said "I Do" in the sand on the South Beach of the Don Cesar and celebrated with their family and friends in the South Terrace.

I loved the colorful uplighting and beautiful centerpieces the couple chose to accent their reception. The room was dripping in tones of pink, blue and purple and the glow of soft candlelight. Uplighting is a perfect way to add drama and ambiance to a reception space and it especially adds a lovely element of color and light to the photographs.

A little on how they met :)

Heather's Version:

It was a Thursday night with not a lot going on in Stuart, FL. My friends and I decided to go out for a quick bite and some drinks at Mulligans (the local beach bar & grill). Myself and about 4 others showed up and the place was packed. A friend was already there and got up from his seat so that I could sit down. I did and it just so happened that a very cute young man was sitting beside me. I noticed that he was watching baseball with 2 other guys and wasn't talking much. Ah, the "perfect, non-threatening" seat.

As the night went on, I was having fun with my friends and overheard the cute young man ask for a cup from the bartender as he took out his dip. I glared at him with a look of digust to which he replied, "Don't worry sweetheart, I wont spit in front of you". I rolled my eyes, giggled and turned back around in my seat. I then, immediately, told my friend just how cute I thought he was. Of course, she started to talk to him.

Thankfully he is a Rays fan (because that is very important!). "What's your favorite team?", she aksed. He answered the Rays just as I took a sip of my drink. I was so excited at his answer, I turned towards him and without containing myself (or drink), I spit beer all over him! I couldn't stop laughing as he wiped his face, now giving me a look of disgust, and said "Perfect, now you HAVE to talk to me!".

We did the rest of the night, and he hasn't stopped talking since (haha)...and the rest is history.

Jay's Version:

It was a Thursday and I was in Stuart for work. A couple of friends from work and I went to Downtown Jensen Beach which was having the art fest that night. The college world series was going on and I didn't care where we went as long as I could see the game. Dinner ended but the game still played on. On our way back to the truck we passed a little beach bar on the corner with the game on. Not wanting to miss anything, I suggested we pull up the three stools at the end and have a night cap and catch the rest of the game.

A new group joined the bar and I was excited to see the tall balding guy get up and relinquish his chair to a much cuter girl. To be honest, that's all I noticed, the game was too good to give any attention to her at the moment. I listened as she joked with the guys that were with her. I found myself laughing and beginning to eavesdrop a bit more as the game came to an end. At this point I knew I should talk to her, but was not quite sure if she was dating one of those guys. I definitely didn't need a black eye the night before business meetings. One more drink then we were headed home. Pulled out the ol' Copenhagen and politely procured a cup from the bar tender who not so descreetly called across the bar if I was going to use it as a spittoon. Thoroughly ashamed I nodded and noticed the cute girl burning a hole in the side of my head. Remembering my mothers advice "Never spit, scratch, or cuss in front of a Lady," I assured the young lady I would do her no such disgrace. Her rolling eyes told me the damage was done.

As her friend so subtly began to chat me up the topic of my favorite baseball team came up. As I answered I was met with a shower of Yuengling and a hardy swat to the arm. Love at first Spat.

The rest of the night she was able to imbibe without sharing and little by little I began to realize that this wasn't going to be the last time I saw the cute girl who saddled up next to me at the bar that night.

Alex and Dyedra Featured in the Limelight | Sandpearl Resort | Clearwater Beach, Florida

Alex and Dyedra did what any other self-respecting 16 year old twins would do... they threw one amazing Sweet 16 year old birthday bash! It was a birthday party that could easily be worthy of its own MTV show.

Besides the smoothie bar with real fruit, the chocolate fountain bar, and the DJ who rocked the dance floor, the party included a sweet 16 candle ceremony in which both girls had 16 different important people in their lives light a candle as they acknowledged the impact they had on each of their lives and how thankful they were for each of the candle holders.

Alex and Dyedra are incredibly sweet twin girls who have a very bright future ahead of them. Happy Sweet Sixteen!!

Niki and Mike Featured in the Limelight | Sandpearl Resort | Clearwater Beach, Florida Wedding Photography

Niki and Mike were married on daylight savings.

There is something simply romantic about a wedding on the last day, one last long sunset, before the time changes. It’s the ending of one season, and the beginning of a new one. It’s looking back at a relationship that has bloomed and looking forward to a marriage that will flourish. (not to mention you get one extra hour to get down on the dance floor).

Niki and Mike are a couple that I do not have enough kind adjectives in my vocabulary to say enough things about. These two are about as sweet, thoughtful & genuine as they come. After the first conversation I had with Niki, I sat down on my couch and envied the love she had for Mike that was evident by her excitement. When you meet them, their love, consideration, and care to those around them are merely a manifestation of what they feel for each other.

Friends, family, and guests at the reception gathered on the west lawn of the Sandpearl Resort, celebrated Niki and Mike and watched the last late sunset of the season. Niki and Mike are not just wonderful Limelight clients, but have become my friends. Thank you for letting me celebrate with you. Best wishes to a beautiful marriage of a beautiful couple.

Meaning of the New Limelight Logo

The two sets of L's reflecting each other represent the L’s in our name: Limelight. The mark somewhat resembles the shape of a cross, representing our Christian faith. The mark also looks like the inside of a lime if you cut one in half. We were inspired by Japanese chop marks because Michael’s mother grew up in Sasabo, Japan and the tradition in Japan is to identify your artwork with a special mark called a “chop mark.” We also wanted a timeless and elegant mark that accurately portrays the sophistication, class and style of our photography. That is basically the symbolic MEANING of the logo that we wanted to convey.

This session was extra special to me because Priscilla and I were AOPi sorority sisters at the University of Florida, friends and even roommates one summer! I met Priscilla and Erik at Harry P. Leu Gardens and then we moved on to downtown Orlando on Church Street to complete the engagement session. Both of them are optometrists so I love the eye chart they designed that reads: "And they lived happily ever after." We also incorporated their love of travel with the globe and the train. I am super excited for their wedding July 21, 2012 in Orlando!

Eleni and George Featured in the Limelight | St George Greek Orthodox Church | New Port Richey, FL

Eleni and George married and celebrated at the St George Greek Orthodox Church. This was made extra special because Eleni's dad is the priest of the church and he performed the traditional Greek Orthodox ceremony. The ceremony actually began in the parking lot where Eleni's family surrounded her and her parents and they were led into the church by a traditional Greek band. The celebration and energy lasted well into the night and they were evening breaking plates before it was all over! OPA!!!!

Limelight is absolutely phenomenal! Our photographers were Rebecca and Michael Zoumberos. Their work is amazing! We could tell right away that Photography is their passion and they proved it over and over with how excited and dedicated they are to making sure they capture every wonderful detail of our wedding...from our accessories to our dual Eastern and Western ceremonies through our reception. We could not be happier with how our photos came out. Quality of Service -- Their photos were very artistic. Beautiful candid photos that captured the emotions of our guests and when they're dancing (we had several photos that actually showed one of my flower girls being swung up in the air by her father while dancing and it was beautiful...really captured the moment and movement without any blurring); Stunning black & white photos that really shows their artistic abilities with beautiful lighting effects. They also took a couple of stunning night pictures at a gazebo....with nice lighting that really lit up the outside landscape creating a breathtaking backdrop to our outside photos. Very surreal. Responsiveness -- We corresponded with Marlia (Reception/Secretary), Michael, and Rebecca. All of them were quick in responding to any of our emails, phone calls and text messages. If we can't reach them on the phone immediately, they usually call back within the day. Same with emails, they respond either that same day or the day right after. Professionalism -- They were very professional. We went out to their studio, which I believe is actually they're home as well. As soon as we got there, Michael was kind enough to give us a tour of their studio. Showing us samples of their work and how they will store our wedding photos in their server room. They have all their different album selections displayed on a shelf and they have canvas photos of their work hanging on their walls. On the day of the wedding, they were very prompt and each of them brought two cameras in case something happened to their 1st camera. Before the wedding, Michael and Rebecca went thru the timeline for that day to make sure everything went smoothly. Value -- Limelight has several pairs of Photographers offering a wide range of prices. They may not be the cheapest photographers out there, but they are worth every penny we paid. Michael and Rebecca were willing to customize our package to our liking and we were very happy with what we got. They went above and beyond what was called for...staying with us all day and well into the night taking pictures of us. Even after the reception was over, they decided to stay longer because they wanted to take advantage of the moonlit night to take a couple of night photos of us outside. Those photos came out beautifully...took our breath away! Flexibility -- Limelight was very flexible with us. These two were a BLAST! Their wedding was so sweet and everything about their day was as magical as the love they share for each other.

A little about how these two met...

Jeni's side of the Story
"(the real story)"

The story goes a little something like this......Once Upon a Time Chris had worked at Blackman Kallick for a bit over a year. Then one day in August his life took a turn for the better, way better (he just didn't realize it yet). A new girl started working at Blackman Kallick. Chris just couldn't take his eyes off her. He and Coda, his friend decided to ask this girl, me naturally, if she wanted to play in their Thursday night softball league. She agreed to play. However, she didn't realize at first what she was getting herself into. She had played softball in Florida but forgot that it was 50 degrees colder in Chicago. Also, there was ALOT more to do in Chicago. So unfortunately, she missed the first couple of games as she was busy attending White Sox or Cubs games, or flying back home to Florida. Chris was the coach of the softball team. Every Thursday she DREADED telling him yet again that she wouldn't be playing. Chris was awed by 'her love of the game' and said to Coda right than and there "I'm going to marry this girl. She loves baseball and traveling (of course the fact she is an avid Red Sox fan sealed the deal)".

Eventually she made it to a game and went out with the team afterward. She wanted to introduce her new friends to Kari, one of her closest friends since childhood. They all met and she introduced everyone one night. At this point Chris and she were just friends. Kari liked Chris a lot(aka All Day) and especially his Nike's. Kari knew Chris could be 'that special someone'. Chris and Jeni started hanging out more and more. Chris just couldn't get enough! After Christmas break when everyone arrived back from visiting families for the holidays, they made it "official." Moving to Chicago was the best thing that she have done. She can't wait to spend the rest of her life with Chris.

Chris' side of the Story

A little over 2 years ago he met a girl that would change his life (boy is that an understatment). He had been working at Blackman Kallick for about a year and a half when a new girl named Jeni began work there. She seemed a really cool person so he invited her to play on their softball team. Jeni was always missing games. He felt badly and wanted to refund the money she paid for the league, after all she was never there! They talked and he finally convinced her to come to a game and play. As they grew to know each other they began spending more time together. After that things just took off. They were always together and never wanted to be apart. Chris soon realized that this was the woman with whom he wanted to share the rest of his life. A little over a year into the relationship they decided to move-in together. Six months later they decided to move to Florida. It was about 3 months later that they became engaged and now said their "I do's" and are so happy!!

A little bit about the big day...

Friends and family gathered together to celebrate Jeni and Chris uniting their love at Palmetto Bed and Breakfast. It was a sweet ceremony waterside beneath a beautiful tree... brought to mind the words, "Never have I ever seen a poem lovely as a tree." Jeni had her Flowers done by Flowers by Fudgie "Jeni loves lots of texture so her bouquet was a garden mix using shades of lavender and purple to include Cool Water roses, hydrangea, orchids, freesia, lisianthus and wax flower. She kept the ceremony site simple…we simply frame the couple with a pair of hydrangea topiaries. Candlelight was the couples goal for the reception so we scattered a variety of silver and crystal candelabrum on the tables to achieve that." So after saying "I do's" friends and family traveled over to Pier 22 for some fun and dancing! Located on the majestic Manatee River, Pier 22 offers stunning waterfront views and is a full service venue featuring an upstairs waterfront ballroom accommodating up to 200 guests. Downstairs offers several private dining rooms for up to 60 guests along with an outdoor deck, all with beautiful water views. And Beautiful it was. Congratulations Jeni and Chris!!

Michelle and Scott Featured in the Limelight | The Don Vicente | Tampa, Florida Wedding Photography

Michelle and Scott were such a sweet couple to work with! The newlyweds met in 1985 while in high school but didn't reconnect until more than 20 years later! It was so touching to see this couple get married surrounded by so many generations of family members from their grandparents all the way down to Scott's own grandaughter.

The couple shares many common interests especially in music and photography, as well as a mutual love of Ybor City! So there was no better location for their big day than The Don Vicente Inn! It was the perfect setting for their vintage style wedding with all the right touches of elegance. The rock-a-billy band Rocket 88 kept the dance floor packed all night and added a unique element to the celebration. The hotel was covered in soft candlelight and antique cameras as centerpieces.

Michelle was an absolutely stunning bride! I was so impressed with her two dresses and two pairs of fabulous shoes that were detailed in crystal by hand by one of her bridesmaids! =)

I had the pleasure to work with some amazing vendors on Michelle and Scott's big day! A special thank you to all that helped make their wedding a success!

Alexandra and Noyes were one of my favorite couples to work with. They exude a genuine warmth and sincerity as individuals and as a couple that draws you in and engages you. They live in Atlanta, but the wedding was held in their hometown of Ocala at the gorgeous private club of Golden Ocala. They were married in Alexandra's family church First Presbyterian Church of Ocala. Some of my favorite details of the reception included vintage lounge furniture instead of just the standard round tables for guests to eat at, a cheerio Spanish cabinet and chandelier that belong to the parents of the bride and the couple respectively and the food stations that were suspended in the air. Kristy and Jason Featured in the Limelight | Hyatt Regency Clearwater Beach | Clearwater Beach Wedding Photography

I had so much fun with Kristy and Jason on their wedding day! =) This loving and light-hearted couple was all about having fun and enjoying every minute of their ceremony and celebration! On the morning of their wedding one of Florida's infamously windy cold fronts moved through the state and the weather threatened to move their ceremony indoors but the couple was determined to say "I Do" in the sand! Their vows were beautiful and I can not thank them enough for putting up with the temperatures to allow me to capture their beach session!

From Kristy's jelly shoes to the groomsmen's pink and orange paisley ties, I loved the unique details that they chose to add such a personal touch to their wedding day! Each guest received a pair of wedding color themed sunglasses for the ceremony and as a party favor they received mini bottles of Cholula's hot sauce! =) The couple wanted to include the favor in a photograph so at the end of the night so I set up a few shots that featured it. They ended up being some of my favorite images because I felt that they really captured their fun personalities. I also loved the hand carved wooden surfboard for the guests to sign as their "guestbook." It will be such a nice memory that the newlyweds can add to their home!

Carolyn and Fongman Featured in the Limelight | TradeWinds Island Resort | St. Petersburg, Florida Wedding Photography

Carolyn and Fongman share a lot of common interests; English bulldogs, microbiology, green dinosaurs. These are the type of unique things you find out about someone after really getting to know each other. They aren’t obvious at first glance. However, what was obvious the beautiful evening of their wedding was a love that glowed. To say it shined or maybe even sparkled would be an understatement. This love was radiating from both of their smiles. It’s the type of love that takes years to build. Theirs happened to start at the University of Rhode Island where they first met. Carolyn and Fongman were married at sunset on the beach with an intimate gathering of their closest friends and family. Among the guest list included an Angel. Angel their English bulldog of course. Fongman is one of the most humble grooms I have seen. Still to this day he has not corrected me once for miss-pronouncing his name. Carolyn is all beautiful smiles. The way she looked at her groom says so much more than words can possibly describe.

Kelli and Jack were a joy to work with for their rehearsal dinner and their wedding day at the Don Cesar Beach Resort in St. Pete Beach, Florida. The couple and their friends and family flew in from Connecticut to enjoy a destination wedding with a beautiful ceremony in the courtyard and a reception in the amazing grand ballroom!

The couple's big day was accented by an absolutely gorgeous arrangement of flowers from The Bride's Boquet. "Kelli's bridal bouquet was creamy white hydrangea with ivory roses and blue delphinium wrapped in satin ribbon to match her dress. Her reception was decorated with a combination of tall and low centerpieces to accentuate the ceiling in the ballroom made with the same flowers as her bouquet- ivory hydrangea , ivory roses and blue delphinium. The led lights in the tall centerpieces added extra wow and the candlelight made the room glow."

Special Operations Warrior Foundation Charity Golf Tournament at Isla Del Sol

Isla del Sol Yacht and Country Club is nestled between the southern tip of St. Petersburg and St. Pete Beach, just north of Tierra Verde. They were host to the Special Operations Warrior foundation charity golf tournament. The Special Operations Warrior Foundation provides full scholarship grants and educational and family counseling to the surviving children of special operations personnel who die in operational or training missions and immediate financial assistance to severely wounded special operations personnel and their families.

Lauren and Tony Featured in the Limelight | Ringling Mansion at the Ca' d'Zan | Sarasota, FL

Lauren and Tony were married in front of the Ca' d'Zan Mansion at the John and Marble Ringling Museum of Art. The Ringlings' dazzling palatial mansion is a tribute to the American Dream and reflects the splendor and romance of Italy. Described as “the last of the Gilded Age mansions” to be built in America, Ca' d’Zan has 56 incredible rooms filled with art and original furnishings. With its Venetian Gothic architecture, the mansion is a combination of the grandeur of Venice’s Doge’s Palace, combined with the gothic grace of Cà d’Oro, with Sarasota Bay serving as its Grand Canal.

Becki Creighton from Flowers by Fudgie describes the florals: "The bride carried a hand tied bouquet of David Austin Patients roses. The bridesmaids wore pewter gowns and carried small hand tied bouquets of yellow garden roses with billy balls, freesia , succulents and seeded eucalyptus.

For the ceremony flowers and table pieces the couple chose a colorful mix of blush hydrangea with circus or a bi-colored yellow/red rose along with yellow garden roses as the main focus. Also included were orange and yellow lilies, and yellow button poms and billy balls. The floral pieces made a bold statement on the tiffany blue table linens."

DeLeon Entertainment provided the following entertainment:

Ceremony music- 5 piece classical ensemble- violinist, cellist, trumpet/ piccolo trumpet, flute/ sax, keyboard and the sound system for the officiant. Special requests for the Ceremony- "All you need is love" and "The theme from Star Wars." (arrangements prepared by Anthony DeLeon).

Cocktail hour music - Scott Joplin style quartet- keyboard, drummer, trumpet/vocalist and sax

Reception Band - 9 piece band- keyboard/bass/vocalist, drummer, guitarist/violinist/vocalist, sax/flute/clarinet, trumpet/vocalist, violin/mallets/electric bass, male and female vocalists (2). (including an EMCEE for the evening as well as full sound and lighting for the Venue).

Featured number during dinner "Phantom of the Opera" was a highlight of the reception.
