Hoboken, NJ Engagement Portraits: Congratulations Courtney + Brian!

We headed to the city of Hoboken, NJ to photograph Courtney and Brian. There were so many spots near to their hears that we visited. The cute aqua and gold doorway is the door to their first apartment together. They spent many evenings out and around Hoboken in the areas we photographed. Brian proposed to Courtney at a W hotel so I was very excited to be able to spot the W in the background for some of the portraits! And of course we have the beautiful New York city skyline and the Empire State Building in some of the pictures!

Master Minds Retreat, Detroit, MI

We (Michael and Rebecca) belong to a group called Master Minds. This select group of successful photographers was hand-selected from among the best studios in the USA by Professional Photographers of America. We have developed a great bond of respect and trust with this group over the past several years through monthly phone conference calls and by meeting at the annual Imaging USA convention. This year we headed to Michigan for a 4-day retreat. Each studio had the opportunity to share their strengths in photography, budgeting, business and marketing/advertising with everyone. Each studio was then able to ask questions of the others and learn how to improve our weaknesses. But we were not ALL business....we were able to enjoy each other's company, cookout, take a tour of downtown Detroit and even take some photos of each other! We are looking forward to our retreat next year in Oregon!
