Nicole and David's wedding day was so warm and beautiful even though a cold front and rain storm tried it's best to make it otherwise! The threat of rain is something that no bride wants to hear in her wedding day forecast but in the decade that I have been photographing weddings I have learned that the weather is really the only thing on a wedding day that no one has any control over so it's best to not let mother nature create any stress! I have always felt a bit of luck on my side as over the years I have only had a handful of changed plans due to weather, but I do have to say that I probably haven't had a couple be as positive about it as Nicole and David! As the lightning crashed and the rain poured during getting ready Nicole was all smiles and her bridesmaids even had an impromptu dance party to lighten the moment! David beamed when he saw his bride not walk, but dance down the aisle with her father just as the whole bridal party did before her! I loved that most of the bridal party donned their sunglasses favors even though we were inside all day and that all the guests had such a great time! Everyone was surprised when the bride and groom treated the party to a rendition of the final dance from the movie Dirty Dancing! The smiles on the faces of the guests were so awesome! We were able to photograph some beautiful portraits on a beautiful spiral staircase and hallway and the rain finally stopped in time for us to sneak outside to the beautiful courtyard to photograph some very sweet and romantic closing night shots! Congratulations to the new Mr. and Mrs. Geier!
