Chris and Paige were introduced by their brothers, because they are older and they were pledge brothers (Sigma Chi) at University of Florida. They met the summer before they started college, but were just friends for a few months. They started dating at the end of the first semester of their freshman year, and have been inseparable ever since! Paige went to Alabama for her first 2 years, but then she ventured back home to University of Florida, where Chris just so happened to attend. They are both still attending UF, Paige is finishing my master's in elementary education, while Chris is in his 2nd year of law school.
The story of their proposal (written by Chris):
April 3rd, 2010
With the Spring winding down, we both thought that it would be great to get one last trip down to one of our favorite places, Boca Grande. Saturday morning we decided to go out on the boat with Paige's parents for a short walk on the beach and quick lunch on the water.
We made our first stop at the docks behind Don Pedro National Park. Trying to get a chance to be alone with Paige, I took her off the boat and started walking towards the beach. We walked a ways down the beach looking for shells along the way. Finally about a half mile down the beach, I stopped and reached down for a shell. After a moment to telling her how much I love her, I got down on one knee and and asked her to marry me. Lucky for us, we had the paparazzi (Mr. and Mrs. Johnson) hot on our tail catching the moment. We went back to the boat, opened a bottle of champagne, and started the celebration.
After a great lunch at Barnacle Phil's, we packed up to head back the Dade City for the rest of the Easter weekend. We walked into the house in Dade City and Mrs. Johnson had decorated the entire place for a proper celebration. Both of our parents and some other family members joined us for a great dinner. After having dinner, there was a knock on the door. Paige opened the door to find a group of our best friends ready to celebrate.
